Dedication Day

It’s been a special day here at Christmas Place.  Early this morning, staff of Christmas Place, The Inn at Christmas Place, and The Partridge & Pear Restaurant gathered at our new fountain for a special dedication.

As you may know, we are a family-owned business.  In August this year, we suffered the very untimely death of our president, Keith Biggs.  Keith was a very creative and compassionate leader who daily shared with us his vision for the future of the company.  He encouraged every one of us to achieve our best, both for the company and personally.  We really miss Keith’s presence around here, but share wonderful memories of the too-short time he was with us.  More than just a boss, he was our friend.

If you ever visited any of our properties, there is a very good chance you met Keith and he served you without your ever knowing he was our president.  Making the spirit of Christmas real for every guest was one of his passions.  To commemorate his role in our present success and his inspiration for our future growth as individuals and as a company, staff and his family decided to dedicate our new fountain courtyard to Keith’s memory.  The plaque is completed, and it will be mounted to a marble base with a permanent installation by the fountain.  We unveiled the plaque this morning, and want to share the message with you.

Keith lived every bit of that dash between his dates, and we feel blessed for having known him.

Keith was well respected among his peers in the tourism industry for his continued commitment to making Pigeon Forge a better community for everyone…. each passing day. He will be missed but well remembered. Ken Maples

Keith was a wonderful man. He had such a marvelous since of humor and was down to Earth. If you had walked into the store, you would have never guessed his position in the company for Keith carried no air of superiority about him. Well, maybe his height:) There aren’t enough words to attest to how truly “superior” he was. He was an outstanding man, father, husband, son, brother, friend, employer, and much more. He will not be forgotten.

I never met Mr. Biggs but words can’t describe the memories he has helped create for my family. I compare him to a modern day Walt Disney for what he has created in Pigeon Forge. I wish I could have thanked him. My family will continue to enjoy his gifts for generations to come.

Keith was my best friend. I miss him just as much today as I did the first day he left us. I can’t see it ever being any different. There will always be a void for the rest of my life. I’m so happy that his last project the Fountain I was able to share with him. Today is my friends Birthday November 18th. I know your playing golf in heaven with Hershel and Aunt Dorothy is riding in the cart with you. So Happy Birthday Keith I Love you and Miss you. I look forward to our first round together in heaven someday. I’m so honored that I could build the Fountain that will honor your memory. I hope I made you proud!!!! Arley
