Still Beautiful!

Several years ago I purchased a pair of sunglasses that have rose-tinted lenses (okay, I probably purchased three pairs that day, I have mad love for sunglasses), and let me tell you, fall is the BEST time of the year to wear them!  As the leaves begin fading on the trees, through my sunglasses they are still intense and beautiful.  This tree right by the store is still putting on quite a show, though, no glasses required.

How silently they tumble down
And come to rest upon the ground
To lay a carpet, rich and rare,
Beneath the trees without a care,
Content to sleep, their work well done,
Colors gleaming in the sun.

At other times, they wildly fly
Until they nearly reach the sky,
Twisting, turning through the air
Till all the trees stand stark and bare.
Exhausted, drop to the earth below
To wait, like children, for the snow.
