Unbelievable rooms at The Inn at Christmas Place!

First, I hereby declare that I work for the company that owns The Inn at Christmas Place.  That said - WOW!  I had my first complete tour of the hotel and first look at the guest rooms yesterday, and my brain is just saying ~ WOW!  They are outstanding.  I have visited my share of hotels around the country and the world, and this one is truly very special and quite fantastic.

Before you get to a room, there are bellmen at the front door, and plenty of staff to help and direct you.  They are all so friendly and welcoming, it made me feel good just walking in – and I’m so new to the company, they did not know that I was an employee (I work at the store across the street from the hotel) – so no “co-worker bounce”.

I have written a separate page about the Inn (look to the right on this page), so I won’t pools_1_l.jpgdescribe the public areas again here, just the rooms.  Except I will tell you that I found out yesterday that one guest so enjoyed the figure-eight slide at our pool that he bought one for his own swimming pool.  {{party at Doug’s place next Friday, bring your own towel}}

On to the rooms ~ and custom-made mattresses, which are a dream.  So my coworkers tell me.  I don’t have first hand knowledge of this.  Everyone else got to stay at the Inn this winter.  I did not.  I’m not bitter about it, either.  However, they have all truly said great things about the bedding – no peas under the mattress.

Flat-panel HD TVs, microwaves, and refrigerators in every room, along with the usual appliances.  Also, free Internet access in every room, so you can spend your vaca e-mailing home to let everyone know just what they are missing!

Now for the really good stuff – the bathrooms.  Normally I don’t spend excessive amounts inn-at-night-2.jpgof time in the bathroom (shut up, you know who you are)…except for that one trip to Encinada, Mexico… darn that agua fria…but nothing is worse than having a fabulous room with a yucky bathroom.  Me, when I’m away from home, I want something better than home – and these rooms deliver.  Gorgeous granite counter tops – and they’re big, too.  With decorative ceramic star-shaped trays holding the Gilchrist & Soames toiletries and a ceramic sleigh holding the hair dryer, the sink area is really attractive (can I write glowing things about a bathroom sink?).  The showers are really grand as well – some are traditional tubs, and others have walk-in showers with glass doors – that’s cool stuff in a hotel room.  And everything is very well lit – no gloomy caves.

The best rooms of all come with a fireplace with a granite surround and hearth, and a king-room-with-fireplace.jpgtwo-person whirlpool in the room.  The suite with a living room and full kitchen (including stove) has an enormous bedroom, with an arched entryway leading to separate areas for the whirlpool and bath.  Wicked sweet!  With a view of the mountains on one side and the courtyard grounds on the other ~ I see me moving in tomorrow.  Like I said at the beginning, WOW!  I’ll send you my new address.

lobbies_2_l.jpgOn top of all these beautiful features, add the lovely Christmas decor of wreaths, swags, trees, figurines, and winter prints throughout the rooms and public areas ~ icing on the cake.  It really is a magnificent property, and I can’t wait for an excuse to book a room for myself!

    Well, Janet,not to rub it in or anything because I feel you are due a night’s stay at the Inn. I have to admit it was very delightful. I accepted my free stay and even rented a neighboring room so my sister and her family could stay the same night. It was quite funny because this was even my first time seeing the Inn complete. We entered the rooms as a group to see who had the ‘coolest’ room! Of course, we both had fabulous quarters. My 5 year old nephew was so excited he kept yelling,”It’s Incredible!” That it was and is. It was a pretty cold night that night but we still stood on our balcony overlooking the courtyard, shivering in a huddle. The lights and the landscaping were delightful and it was fun being able to wave at my sister,too.We then took a stroll through the Inn to see the layout. We even went swimming and enjoyed the hot tub.
    The rooms were elegantly decorated and yes, the bathroom was my favorite.I like the makeup remover wipes, nice touch. Being the Maybelline queen that I am, I can’t believe I had forgotten my eye makeup remover. I guess I shouldn’t share that I even sat in the jacuzzi and watched Golden Girls!!I did good not dropping the remote in the bubble bath. The fire place added the ambiance too that was almost missing Luther Vandross singing some ballad in the background but hey, can’t have everything.I know there are some things you should not share with the class but hey, I had relaxing evening!Don’t hate!
    Well, I must say I really really enjoyed the bed. It had some kind of power over my body and I was sunk once I laid down. I then became this human slug and stayed there as close to checkout time as possible. Not being much of a morning person,severe sleep apnea does that to a person, I was reluctant to arise.Then I got the call from my sister, reminding me to be down at breakfast because it was over by 9???WHAT??EEK! Word to the owners, you may wanna extend that! I then race to the shower and try to take it all in. I had to see this breakfast that everyone was so boasting about. Not that you have to ring the dinner bell twice for me- HAHA! I see familiar faces as I stand in line with my plate. Fresh fruit, pastries, gravy..(ooh honey made me wanna smack my mama!),well, you know I would never do that! Though if Richard Simmons had been standing there I would have given him a big bump outta my way!! It was great needless to say and they have lots of seating which was nice too.
    Thanks to the owners for letting me experience something that only a certain few can. It is a wonderful place and should be renamed the Incredible Inn at Christmas Place!!!!!!
    I plan to move in as soon as they let me!

    I can not say enough good things about The Inn at Christmas Place.I know there is no such thing as a 10 star hotel but it sure could be rated that way.We started staying there shortly after it opened & we would never think of staying any where else.It is truly a Grand Hotel.It`s great in every way.The mattress sure lives up to it`s name “Sleep in Heavenly Peace”.We purchased one in December as soon as we returned from our trip there.We have never slept better,they are wonderful.I probably sound like I work there, I don`t, but it is our home away from home.There`s no way you wouldn`t love this place & the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains.The people that work there are so friendly & nice.You just have to be there to know how good it is. Try it,I think you will love it as we do.
